Job Overview
Stantec is seeking a Construction Manager for a buildings project in Abu Dhabi. This full-time role is intended for an experienced construction professional with eight to twelve years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. The manager will represent the client on site, supervise construction activities and help ensure that contractors deliver work in line with approved designs, contract requirements, quality expectations and project schedules.
The position is particularly suited to candidates with project management consultancy or consultant-side experience in construction supervision. The successful applicant will monitor site progress, review contractor performance and coordinate technical matters with the Resident Engineer or Project Manager. Previous UAE work experience is required, and valid Society of Engineers (SOE) and Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) registrations are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise site construction and check work against approved designs and specifications.
- Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contract requirements.
- Review progress against project schedules and identify matters needing attention.
- Check that quality and safety requirements are followed during construction.
- Coordinate technical and progress matters with the Resident Engineer and Project Manager.
- Review site activities and recommend corrective action where required.
- Ensure inspections and project documentation are completed accurately.
- Support delivery of medium- to large-scale building projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Eight to twelve years of relevant construction experience is required.
- PMC or consultant-side experience in supervision and contractor management is essential.
- Valid SOE and DMT registrations are mandatory.
- Previous UAE work experience is required.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are expected.
- Candidates should be able to balance quality, schedule and site requirements.
