Accountant

A leading petroleum transportation company in Ajman is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Accountant to join its Finance team. If you have solid experience managing financial operations, reconciliations, and VAT compliance, and you’re comfortable working with transportation-specific costs like fuel and fleet expenses, this role could be your next step.

You’ll support daily accounting functions, oversee AP and AR, maintain transportation-related financial records, and help keep VAT compliance and financial reporting on track. Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or petroleum is a strong advantage, especially for candidates who can start immediately.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Handling day-to-day accounting transactions and maintaining accurate books
• Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Preparing customer invoices and monitoring collections
• Processing supplier invoices, payments, and expense claims
• Performing bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations
• Maintaining records of fleet, vehicle, fuel, and transportation expenses
• Monitoring trip-wise and customer-wise revenue and costs
• Supporting monthly closing and financial reporting
• Assisting with UAE VAT compliance, returns, and documentation
• Coordinating with operations and admin teams to gather financial data
• Supporting the Finance Manager with budgeting and reporting

What We’re Looking For

• 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience
• Transportation, logistics, petroleum, or fleet industry experience is an advantage
• Good knowledge of UAE accounting standards and VAT practices
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
• Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
• High accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Immediate availability highly preferred
