Job Overview
Dubai Sports City is seeking an Accountant with experience in the hospitality industry to support its finance team. The full-time role covers day-to-day accounting, transaction documentation, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. It is suited to a careful finance professional who understands regular accounting processes and can help ensure records are accurate and reports are prepared on time.
The accountant will assist with payables and receivables, general ledger records, bank reconciliations, revenue reporting, and month-end or year-end closing tasks. The position also requires awareness of UAE VAT requirements and company procedures. Experience with Micros and Concept systems is an advantage, alongside proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel, and accounting or ERP applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate daily accounting records and process financial transactions.
- Prepare invoices, payment requests, receipts, and supporting financial documents.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial reports and revenue reconciliations.
- Follow company procedures, accounting standards, and UAE VAT requirements.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support reliable reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Two to three years of relevant accounting experience, including hospitality experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with invoices, payment requests, receipts, and financial documents.
- Understanding of revenue reconciliation, closing processes, and UAE VAT.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel, and accounting or ERP systems.
- Experience with Micros and Concept is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
The role calls for numerical accuracy, clear documentation, and good analytical judgment. The accountant should be able to reconcile discrepancies, keep supporting evidence organized, and communicate with other departments to clarify transactions. Strong time management is important during reporting periods, when several tasks must be completed accurately and within deadlines.
