Accounts Payable Accountant

Majid Al Shamsi Enterprises LLC is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant for its Dubai finance team. The position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong AP experience in construction, contracting, or other project-based environments and a solid understanding of ERP-driven finance processes.

The successful candidate will manage supplier invoices and payments, perform three-way matching, support import and landed-cost accounting, allocate costs to projects and WIP, and assist with reconciliations, month-end closing, audits, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounts payable cycle for local and international suppliers.
• Perform PO, GRN, and invoice three-way matching before posting.
• Process subcontractor payments, retention amounts, advance recoveries, and certified payment applications.
• Handle import invoices, LC/TT transactions, and supporting documents.
• Calculate and allocate freight, insurance, customs, transport, and clearance-related landed costs.
• Allocate costs to projects, jobs, cost centres, and WIP accurately.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor vendor ageing and payment schedules.
• Support GRNI, accruals, month-end closing, audits, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 5–6 years of AP experience, including at least 2 years in construction/contracting or project-based organizations.
• Strong knowledge of import procurement, LC processing, landed-cost accounting, and Incoterms.
• Understanding of project costing, WIP accounting, VAT, and customs-duty treatment.
• Strong MS Excel and ERP skills; Odoo experience is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
