Job Overview
A construction-sector employer in Dubai is looking for an experienced CAD Draftsman to prepare accurate drawings and technical documentation. The position supports engineering, architectural, and BIM teams by turning project information and design requirements into clear 2D drawings. The successful candidate should be confident using AutoCAD, understand construction drafting practices, and have basic working knowledge of Revit. The role involves preparing new drawings as well as revising existing documents when designs or site requirements change. Careful file management and attention to drawing standards are important because project teams rely on current, coordinated information.
Employment: Full Time. Experience: Minimum 2 years of CAD drafting experience in building or construction projects; AutoCAD proficiency and basic Revit knowledge. Salary: AED 4,500–7,000 per month (estimated).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate 2D drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and shop drawings for construction projects.
- Produce technical documentation that follows project requirements and recognised drafting standards.
- Coordinate drawings with engineers, architects, and BIM team members to resolve technical details.
- Revise drawings when designs change, using comments and updated project information as guidance.
- Check drawings for completeness, consistency, dimensions, and compliance with internal quality expectations.
- Maintain organised drawing files and supporting project documentation so teams can locate current versions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least two years of CAD drafting experience on building or construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and basic knowledge of Revit.
- Experience preparing construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and drawing coordination processes.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, architectural, and BIM colleagues.
Skills and Additional Information
Practical AutoCAD capability is essential, while basic Revit familiarity is required to support coordinated project work. The candidate should be methodical, accurate, comfortable handling revisions, and able to organise files so that drawing updates are easy to track. The stated salary range is estimated.
