Job Overview
Grid Ides is seeking an experienced Draftsman to prepare clear, accurate technical drawings for architecture, interior design and construction projects. The role requires confidence using AutoCAD, attention to drawing detail and the ability to coordinate revisions with design and project teams. The successful candidate will help translate project requirements into practical drawings that site teams and other stakeholders can use.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural, interior design, shop and working drawings in AutoCAD.
- Review drawings to check dimensions, coordination, accuracy and consistency with project specifications.
- Update plans, sections, details and drawing sets when designs or site requirements change.
- Coordinate with designers, engineers and project staff to clarify technical information.
- Maintain orderly drawing files and ensure revisions are correctly reflected in issued documents.
- Support residential and commercial projects with timely drafting deliverables.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Have 3–5 or more years of experience in a Draftsman role.
- Be highly proficient in AutoCAD.
- Understand architectural and interior design drawings and construction documentation.
- Have experience preparing detailed shop, working and construction drawings.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with design and project teams.
Skills and Competencies
The position calls for a careful drafter who can manage revisions without losing version control. The candidate should be able to interpret mark-ups, ask clear questions when information is missing and organise files so that stakeholders can identify the latest drawings. Timely coordination is important to reduce avoidable errors during project execution.
