Job Overview
Pentabell United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior Health & Safety Director to lead safety management on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dubai. This permanent role calls for a respected safety leader who can set strategy, guide teams and maintain a strong safety culture on complex sites, including tunnelling works.
This leadership position carries accountability for the wellbeing of large project workforces. You will set expectations, challenge unsafe practices constructively and build trust with project directors, contractors and site teams. The right candidate leads by example, communicates with authority and credibility, and treats every incident, near miss and audit finding as an opportunity to strengthen the safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety strategies for water and wastewater projects.
- Lead safety management across large infrastructure, utilities and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, project requirements and industry standards.
- Manage risks in tunnelling operations using TBM and SEM methods.
- Mentor safety teams and project personnel.
- Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement with contractors and stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience.
- At least 5 years managing comparable water or wastewater project scope.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience on major infrastructure, utilities or PPP/concession projects.
- Middle East project experience is desirable.
Skills and Competencies
Occupational health and safety management systems, construction risk management, NEBOSH-aligned practices, leadership, mentoring and excellent written and verbal communication.
