Durham School Dubai is seeking a passionate KS2 Primary Teacher to join its academic team for a January 2027 start. The role is suitable for an educator who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations and help children develop academically, socially and emotionally in a supportive school environment.
Job Overview
The teacher will plan and deliver effective Key Stage 2 lessons, adapt teaching to different learning needs and monitor pupil progress. The role also involves classroom management, student wellbeing and collaboration with colleagues to support consistent teaching standards and the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Key Stage 2 lessons that support pupil understanding, participation and academic achievement.
- Differentiate teaching approaches and classroom activities to meet the varying abilities and learning needs of students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintain high academic expectations and use assessment information to guide next steps.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-organized classroom where students feel supported and ready to learn.
- Promote students’ academic, social and emotional wellbeing through appropriate guidance and a nurturing learning environment.
- Work with teaching colleagues and contribute to school activities and the wider educational community.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two to three years of teaching experience in Key Stage 2.
- Experience in a British curriculum school is preferred.
- A genuine interest in delivering engaging and innovative classroom instruction.
- Strong classroom management, lesson organization and communication skills.
- The ability to assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to individual and group needs.
- A clear commitment to student development, inclusion and academic success. No formal qualification requirement was specified.
Skills
Relevant strengths include primary teaching practice, lesson planning, differentiated instruction, assessment, classroom management and positive communication with children and colleagues. The teacher should be organized, supportive and able to use assessment evidence to improve learning outcomes.
Employment Details
This is a full-time teaching position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with an expected start in January 2027. The estimated salary is AED 6,500–10,500 per month. Applicants should have 2–3 years of KS2 teaching experience; British curriculum experience is preferred.
