Quality Control Officer (Coffee)

ROR Roastery L.L.C., a specialty coffee roaster based in Dubai, is expanding its quality team and wants to hear from a seasoned coffee professional who takes pride in consistency, craft, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the science and sensory art of great coffee just as much as the discipline of running tight quality processes across a growing operation.

You’ll be the person the wider team turns to when a batch tastes ‘off,’ when an espresso shot needs recalibrating, or when a supplier’s green beans need evaluating before they ever reach the roaster. Day to day, you’ll run cupping sessions, dial in espresso extraction, audit processes against food safety requirements, and coach baristas so that every cup served meets the standard customers expect.

What you’ll be doing

• Own quality standards for specialty coffee products from bean to cup
• Lead structured cupping sessions, sensory panels, and espresso calibration checks
• Carry out routine quality audits and confirm compliance with food safety protocols
• Coach and upskill baristas on quality control procedures and best practice
• Spot recurring quality issues early and recommend fixes before they become bigger problems

What you bring

• At least 4 years’ hands-on experience in coffee quality control
• A degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Hospitality, or a related discipline
• SCA certification is a strong plus
• A valid UAE driving licence (mandatory, as the role involves site visits)
• Solid working knowledge of cupping techniques, sensory evaluation, espresso calibration, and food safety standards
