Senior Accountant

SYNTEX Electromechanical Contracting LLC is hiring an experienced Senior Accountant for its office-based finance team in Abu Dhabi. The position is designed for a finance professional who can manage core accounting operations while supporting financial reporting, VAT compliance, budgeting, audits, and project cost control.

The successful candidate will maintain reliable financial records, oversee daily accounting activities, support month-end and year-end closing, and provide management with accurate financial information for operational and business decisions. Contracting, construction, or MEP experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
• Process payroll-related accounting activities and maintain supporting records.
• Prepare UAE VAT returns and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Coordinate external audits and provide required schedules and documentation.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Monitor project costs and support cost-control activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and UAE VAT compliance.
• Experience in contracting, construction, or MEP companies is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of project accounting and cost control is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
