Job Overview:
Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This full-time position is suitable for an experienced accounting professional with strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices, financial reporting, VAT compliance, and day-to-day financial operations. Candidates with experience in project-based, contracting, or service-oriented organizations are encouraged to apply.
Role Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s accounting and reporting functions. The role involves managing financial transactions, reconciliations, project costs, reporting, budgeting, VAT-related activities, and coordination with auditors. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and proficiency with accounting software and Excel are important for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Handle project accounting, cost monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Track project-related expenses and ensure proper allocation of costs.
- Prepare financial statements and periodic financial reports.
- Support UAE VAT calculations, records, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained on time.
- Support the finance team with other accounting and reporting requirements as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE.
- Previous experience in a project-based, contracting, hospitality, or service company is preferred.
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and accounting practices.
- Experience with Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar accounting software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including working with financial data and reports.
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with the finance team.
- Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
