Job Overview
China Railway 18th Bureau Group LLC is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major construction work in Dubai. This commercial role involves payment applications, valuations, variations, contractual claims, cost reporting and project close-out. The successful candidate will bring substantial UAE or GCC project experience and a sound understanding of contract administration, cost management and the documentation needed to monitor commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage Interim Payment Applications (IPA) and Interim Payment Certificates (IPC).
- Assess valuations, variations, claims and other commercial submissions against contract requirements.
- Monitor project costs and prepare commercial reports that support informed decisions.
- Maintain quantity surveying records and documentation through project delivery and close-out.
- Coordinate with project, engineering and commercial teams to resolve contractual or measurement issues.
- Apply contract procedures and established cost controls to help protect project commercial outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in building, aviation or industrial construction projects.
- Have strong UAE / GCC project experience, including IPA / IPC, valuations, variations and claims.
- Understand FIDIC Conditions of Contract and commercial management practices.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and cost management software.
- Experience on major construction projects is preferred; immediate joining is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
A strong candidate will combine analytical ability with a thorough understanding of contract documentation. Accuracy in measurements, commercial assessments and reporting is essential. The role also requires effective coordination, the ability to explain financial or contractual issues clearly and disciplined record keeping to support timely decisions and close-out.
