Shafar Contracting is scaling up its safety team and is looking for experienced Senior Safety Officers to support ongoing high-rise construction projects across Dubai. If you’ve spent your career keeping major building sites safe and compliant, this is your next challenge.
You’ll be embedded on active high-rise sites, responsible for making sure UAE HSE regulations are followed to the letter — from daily inspections to incident investigations. Only candidates currently based in the UAE will be considered.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out regular site inspections to check compliance with HSE standards
- Running risk assessments and putting effective safety controls in place
- Leading toolbox talks and championing a strong safety culture on site
- Investigating incidents and writing up detailed safety reports
- Conducting safety audits and keeping a close eye on high-risk activities
- Working with project teams to stay aligned with Dubai HSE regulations
- Maintaining safety documentation and driving continuous improvement
What we’re looking for:
- Proven track record on high-rise building construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Dubai/UAE HSE regulations and construction safety requirements
- Hands-on experience with inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and audits
- A qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or a related engineering/OHS degree or diploma
- Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills
- Experience working with Dubai main contractors preferred
- Must currently reside in the UAE
