Job Overview
A cybersecurity team in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Level 2 SOC Analyst to investigate escalated security alerts, analyse suspicious activity, and strengthen threat detection and incident response. The position is suited to a professional with practical Security Operations Center experience who can interpret complex logs, assess business risk, and communicate findings clearly. The analyst will collaborate with IT and security colleagues to investigate incidents, support containment, and improve monitoring coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate escalated security alerts and analyse cybersecurity incidents to establish what happened and how serious the impact may be.
- Monitor events through SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, and related security-monitoring platforms.
- Correlate network, system, and endpoint logs to identify suspicious patterns and indicators of compromise.
- Carry out proactive threat hunting and assist with incident containment, remediation, and root-cause investigations.
- Review detection rules, alert thresholds, and operating procedures to improve the quality of security monitoring.
- Document investigation steps, evidence, conclusions, and recommendations in clear incident reports.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity and IT teams to improve response processes and reduce repeat incidents.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least three years of hands-on experience in a SOC or cybersecurity operations environment.
- Practical experience handling Level 2 investigations, incident analysis, and security-event triage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, IBM QRadar, or comparable SIEM tools.
- Familiarity with EDR/XDR technologies, network security monitoring, and security log analysis.
- Understanding of incident response, common attack techniques, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications are an advantage; strong troubleshooting and documentation skills are expected.
