AX Capital is on the lookout for a seasoned Chief Accountant to take independent ownership of its accounting operations in Dubai. This is a senior finance role for someone who can lead with confidence, think analytically, and keep the numbers airtight without needing much hand-holding.
You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting, drive the month-end and year-end close, and make sure everything stays compliant with UAE regulations. Fluency in Arabic — speaking, writing and reading — is a firm requirement for this position, alongside strong English communication.
What you’ll be doing
- Overseeing and managing day-to-day accounting operations
- Preparing, reviewing and presenting financial statements and management reports
- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger and account reconciliations
- Running month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and UAE regulations
- Coordinating with auditors, banks and internal departments
- Maintaining accurate financial records and providing analysis to support management decisions
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including UAE exposure
- Excellent command of both Arabic and English (Arabic fluency is mandatory)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Proven ability to run accounting operations independently
- Solid grounding in accounting principles, financial reporting, and UAE accounting regulations
