Job Overview
Detech Contracting is recruiting a Chief Surveyor with strong experience in NDM and NDRC surveying works for infrastructure projects. The role involves leading survey teams, ensuring accurate setting-out and level control, and checking field measurements against engineering requirements. The successful candidate will help maintain reliable survey data throughout construction and support coordination between site teams and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead survey teams and coordinate daily surveying activities in line with project priorities.
- Carry out or supervise setting-out, alignment, level control and underground crossing surveys.
- Review coordinates, profiles, field measurements and survey records for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify as-built documentation and resolve survey discrepancies with the relevant technical teams.
- Operate and oversee the use of total stations, digital levels and associated survey software.
- Coordinate with engineering and site personnel to keep survey deliverables aligned with drawings and schedules.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Have hands-on experience with NDM / NDRC surveying works; this experience is mandatory.
- Have previous experience leading survey teams in a Chief Surveyor or similar capacity.
- Understand setting-out, alignment, level control and underground infrastructure surveys.
- Be able to review survey data, profiles, coordinates and as-built records.
- Be proficient with total stations, digital levels and surveying software.
- UAE or Dubai infrastructure project experience is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Strong technical judgement and a careful approach to measurement are essential. The candidate should be able to lead field staff, investigate inconsistencies and communicate technical findings clearly. Good organisation is needed to keep survey records traceable and ensure that site teams use current, verified information.
