General Accountant

A well-regarded Dubai organisation is hiring a General Accountant who can run day-to-day accounting operations independently and keep everything compliant with UAE financial regulations.

This is a role for someone who’s already comfortable owning the full accounting cycle — payables, receivables, reconciliations, and closing — without needing much hand-holding, while still working closely with the wider team and supporting audits when they come around.

Solid UAE VAT knowledge and confidence with accounting software are key, and candidates who are already based in the UAE and available to start will be prioritised.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage daily accounting transactions and financial activity
• Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare invoices, receipts, and payment documentation
• Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain general ledgers
• Support monthly and annual financial closing
• Prepare financial reports and statements
• Keep the business compliant with UAE accounting standards and VAT rules
• Work with auditors and support the audit process

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations and accounting practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
• Currently available in the UAE preferred
