Job Overview
SEA BRIGHT SHIP MANAGEMENT & OPERATION LLC is hiring an HSE Officer for its marine workshop team in Dubai. The role is intended for a safety professional with practical experience in a marine workshop, shipyard, fabrication workshop, or heavy industrial setting. The officer will promote safe working practices, monitor compliance with company procedures, identify hazards, and help prevent workplace incidents during workshop activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Carry out workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments across workshop activities and work areas.
- Identify hazards and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to reduce the likelihood of incidents.
- Monitor the correct use of personal protective equipment and reinforce workforce compliance with safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety-awareness sessions covering safe work practices and relevant operational risks.
- Investigate incidents, prepare clear reports, maintain HSE records, and track agreed corrective actions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least three years of HSE experience in a marine workshop, shipyard, fabrication workshop, or heavy industrial environment is required.
- Hands-on familiarity with welding, cutting, grinding, lifting operations, hot work, and confined-space activities is expected.
- Candidates should be able to conduct risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and toolbox talks.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations, permit-to-work systems, PPE requirements, and safe work practices is important.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
Skills
The position requires strong observation, discipline, attention to detail, communication, and report-writing abilities. The officer should be confident explaining safety expectations to workshop personnel and following up on hazards until appropriate action is taken.
Employment Details
This is a full-time, on-site role in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in the marine and heavy industrial sector. The estimated salary is AED 6,500–9,500 per month. Relevant HSE certification is preferred.
