Job Overview
A professional services firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Junior Audit Associate / Intern to support its external audit team. This opportunity suits a recent graduate or early-career candidate who wants to build practical experience in audit and assurance while learning from experienced colleagues. The successful applicant will assist with audit preparation, testing, financial schedules, and client document follow-up. Careful work, ethical conduct, and a willingness to learn are important because the role contributes to reliable financial reporting and timely completion of client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior team members with planning audit engagements, preparing schedules, and organizing the documentation needed for each assignment.
- Perform assigned audit tests and checks in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant UAE requirements.
- Prepare working papers, financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting files that clearly document the work completed.
- Contact clients or coordinate through the audit team to collect invoices, statements, records, and other outstanding information.
- Check figures and documents for inconsistencies, raise questions promptly, and maintain accurate, traceable records.
- Work with auditors and managers to meet engagement deadlines and participate in training and mentoring activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
- CA, ACCA, or CPA students and newly qualified candidates are preferred, though fresh graduates may also be considered.
- Up to one year of audit experience is suitable; candidates should be comfortable learning audit procedures and financial documentation.
- Applicants should have good analytical ability, careful attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of IFRS, external audit procedures, and Microsoft Excel is important. UAE residence and immediate availability are preferred.
