Job Overview
A leading Oil and Gas EPC organization is seeking an experienced Lifting Engineer or Appointed Person to support project activities in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and supervising lifting operations, including crane activities and complex or critical lifts. The successful candidate will prepare lifting plans and work methods, advise lifting teams and ensure that operations are carried out in line with project requirements and applicable safety practices. This position is intended for a technically capable professional who has direct experience with lifting equipment and understands the responsibilities involved in controlling lifting activities on an industrial project site. A valid LEEA Appointed Person certification is mandatory, together with at least five years of relevant experience. The estimated monthly salary is AED 12,000 to AED 18,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise routine and critical lifting activities, taking account of loads, equipment, site conditions and operational risks.
- Prepare, review, maintain and update lifting plans, procedures and related methodologies.
- Provide technical direction to crane operators, signallers, slingers and other personnel involved in lifting operations.
- Develop schedules for routine lifting work and establish suitable controls for critical lifting tasks.
- Verify that lifting activities meet project specifications, site requirements and applicable safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of experience working with lifting equipment and crane operations.
- Valid LEEA Appointed Person (AP) certification is required.
- Experience with comparable crane types, supervising lifting activities and site-specific lifting operations.
- Signaller/Slinger certification and relevant site induction or project-specific training are required as stated for the role.
- The Appointed Person assignment must be formally recorded as part of the lifting plan.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of heavy lifting methodologies, lifting plans, cranes and lifting accessories.
- Understanding of Oil and Gas EPC safety requirements and lifting regulations.
- Clear technical communication, sound planning and the ability to coordinate site personnel safely.
Employment Details
Full-time position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Estimated salary: AED 12,000–AED 18,000 per month. Candidates should hold the required LEEA certification and relevant site experience.
