About the Role
Shafar is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support ongoing and upcoming construction projects in Dubai. The position requires a strong understanding of UAE HSE requirements, practical site-safety experience, and the ability to identify hazards, enforce procedures, and maintain accurate safety documentation. The role is site-focused and requires a visible commitment to safe working practices. The Safety Officer will monitor activities, communicate requirements, identify hazards, and help project teams maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily site activities for compliance with safety regulations and company HSE procedures.
- Implement safety controls and promote safe working practices across construction sites.
- Conduct inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare safety reports and maintain complete HSE documentation.
- Ensure workers understand and follow site-specific safety requirements.
- Support safety-awareness activities and communicate good HSE practices to site teams.
Requirements and Skills
- At least five years of UAE construction-industry experience as a Safety Officer.
- Strong building-construction experience is mandatory.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or another relevant safety certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety practices.
- Excellent observation, communication, reporting, and enforcement skills.
- Must currently be available in the UAE; immediate joiners are preferred.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and HSE compliance is essential.
