Job Overview
Clear Way Ventures LLC-FZ is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a shipping business in Dubai. The role requires strong UAE accounting knowledge and experience with the transactions, costs, and reporting needs of shipping operations. The successful candidate will manage daily accounting, coordinate payables and receivables, oversee reconciliations, and produce reliable monthly and annual financial reports. The position also supports cash-flow monitoring, VAT documentation, audits, and internal controls, and requires a high level of accuracy and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain complete, accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and month-end and year-end closing schedules.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Review shipping invoices, operational costs, and the correct allocation of expenses.
- Monitor cash flow, supplier payments, customer balances, and overdue amounts.
- Reconcile customer, supplier, and intercompany accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate UAE VAT records, audit requests, supporting schedules, and internal financial controls.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Six to eight years of UAE accounting experience within a shipping company is required.
- Strong knowledge of shipping accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation is essential.
- Experience with month-end closing, cash-flow management, and audit coordination is expected.
- Sound understanding of UAE VAT regulations and accounting principles is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is important.
- Candidates should be analytical, organized, communicative, and capable of meeting reporting deadlines independently.
