Job Overview
Dubai Medical University Hospital is welcoming applications for a Specialist or Consultant Ophthalmologist to strengthen its expanding clinical team. The hospital combines patient care with teaching, research and a commitment to clinical excellence.
You will diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of eye conditions, delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary academic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat and manage a broad range of ophthalmic conditions
- Carry out thorough eye examinations and design suitable treatment plans
- Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgery where appropriate
- Work closely with colleagues across specialties to maintain top standards of care
- Keep accurate clinical records and support patient safety and continuous quality improvement
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid DHA Specialist or Consultant licence, or eligibility to obtain one, in Ophthalmology
- Strong clinical experience in general ophthalmology
- UAE hospital experience is an advantage
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in cataract surgery and other ophthalmic surgical procedures
- Familiarity with laser treatments and advanced ophthalmic techniques
- Sound clinical judgement and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
