📝 Job Description:

As a Direct Patient Care RN, you’ll deliver culturally competent, patient-family centered care in a surgical setting. You must demonstrate mastery in:

• Assessment & critical thinking
• Technical & communication skills
• Patient safety, planning, intervention & evaluation
• Professional accountability and leadership
• Use of evidence-based practices

✅ Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• BSN required within 5 years if hired post-2/1/2012 (South Miami Hospital)

Licenses & Certifications (may vary by unit):

• Registered Nurse (RN), Florida license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• May also require:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate

Experience:

• Minimum required experience not specified; surgical nursing background preferred
• Must complete a preceptor class within 12 months of being deemed competent for independent practice
