Job Description – Mechanical Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, fans, blowers, and piping systems
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance to ensure efficient and reliable operation of mechanical systems
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment
• Perform alignment of pumps, motors, and other rotating machinery
• Manage lubrication schedules to enhance equipment performance and longevity
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies during maintenance tasks
• Provide support to other maintenance teams such as electrical and plumbing when required
• Properly use, handle, and maintain tools, testing instruments, and equipment

Technical Competencies

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Sound technical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
• Awareness of workplace safety standards and practices
• Effective time management and task prioritization
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance
• Good knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical systems, and basic HVAC principles
• Proficiency in using mechanical tools, measuring instruments, and alignment tools
• Understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices
• Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
