Job Description

A leading recruitment partner representing established FMCG organizations in the UAE is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a growing finance team in Ajman. This role is ideal for finance professionals with strong expertise in manufacturing cost structures, inventory management, and financial analysis within fast-moving consumer goods environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing product costing, analyzing cost variances, supporting inventory control processes, and providing valuable financial insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Product Costing

• Manage product costing and ensure accurate allocation of costs across manufacturing operations
• Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization
• Maintain accurate costing records and cost allocation methodologies
• Review and update standard costs when required

Inventory Management & Control

• Monitor inventory levels and support inventory control processes
• Track inventory movements and reconcile stock records
• Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
• Assist in inventory audits and stock verification activities

Variance Analysis & Reporting

• Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs
• Investigate cost deviations and identify root causes
• Prepare cost reports and management summaries
• Provide recommendations for improving operational efficiency

Financial Reporting & Closing Activities

• Assist in monthly closing activities and cost-related journal entries
• Maintain accurate financial and costing records
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and reporting standards

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Analyze operational performance and cost trends
• Provide financial insights to management for decision-making
• Assist with profitability and margin analysis

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with operations, production, and supply chain teams
• Monitor manufacturing performance and cost efficiency
• Support process improvement initiatives across departments
• Coordinate with finance teams on reporting and compliance matters

Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience within the FMCG industry
• Experience in manufacturing environments and production costing
• Strong background in inventory control and financial analysis

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong reporting and analytical capabilities
• Experience with financial and cost accounting software
