Job Description

BizVirtue is seeking an experienced General Accountant – Excise Tax to join its finance team in Dubai. This role is ideal for accounting professionals with strong expertise in UAE taxation, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with UAE Excise Tax and VAT regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting audit and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Process journal entries and ensure proper recording of financial activities
• Support financial control and compliance procedures

Excise Tax & VAT Compliance

• Ensure compliance with UAE Excise Tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns accurately and within deadlines
• Maintain tax records and supporting documentation for regulatory purposes
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure ongoing compliance

Financial Reporting & Reconciliations

• Prepare periodic financial reports and management reports
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information

Inventory & Warehouse Accounting

• Monitor inventory movements and stock transactions
• Perform warehouse reconciliations and inventory verification activities
• Support inventory accounting and cost control processes
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy

Audit & Regulatory Support

• Support Federal Tax Authority (FTA) audits and inspections
• Prepare required documentation for tax and financial audits
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
• Maintain audit-ready accounting and tax records

Financial Analysis & Management Support

• Assist management with financial analysis and operational reporting
• Provide insights related to tax compliance, inventory performance, and financial trends
• Support decision-making through accurate financial information and analysis

Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Professional Experience

• 3–5 years of UAE accounting experience
• Mandatory hands-on experience with UAE Excise Tax compliance
• Experience in manufacturing accounting and inventory management
• Previous experience in trading or manufacturing sectors preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of UAE Excise Tax and VAT regulations
• Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation processes
• Knowledge of inventory accounting and warehouse controls
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
