Junior Accountant

E M SQUARE Electrical Contracting and Maintenance is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its Abu Dhabi team. A good fit for candidates with a solid accounting background who can efficiently manage daily financial activities while supporting the company’s contracting projects.

You’ll maintain financial records, handle accounts payable and receivable, prepare reports, and keep everything compliant with UAE VAT rules. Prior experience in electrical or construction contracting environments will work in your favor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate daily accounting records and transactions
• Prepare and record purchase invoices, sales invoices, and payment vouchers
• Process payments for suppliers and subcontractors
• Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports
• Maintain petty cash records and monitor expenses
• Coordinate with project engineers and procurement on project costs
• Prepare payroll and process expense reimbursements
• Keep accounting documents properly filed and organized
• Maintain VAT records supporting UAE compliance
• Assist management and auditors during financial reviews

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Construction or electrical contracting company experience preferred
• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, ERP, or similar)
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good English communication; Arabic a plus
