Job Description

Al Ittihad National Private School – Shakhbout is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher – Science to join its academic team for the 2026–2027 Academic Year.

This role is ideal for an educational leader who is committed to advancing teaching excellence, supporting curriculum innovation, and driving student achievement across middle and high school science programs. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the Science Department, mentoring teachers, and contributing to the school’s academic success within an American Curriculum environment.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Lead and support the Science Department across middle and high school levels
  • Promote excellence in teaching and learning through effective instructional leadership
  • Collaborate with school leadership to achieve departmental and school-wide objectives
  • Contribute to strategic academic planning and school improvement initiatives

Curriculum Development & Implementation

  • Support curriculum planning, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with American Curriculum standards and educational best practices
  • Develop and enhance instructional resources and learning strategies
  • Monitor curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements

Teacher Mentoring & Development

  • Mentor, coach, and support science teachers to enhance instructional effectiveness
  • Facilitate professional development and knowledge-sharing opportunities
  • Promote collaboration and continuous learning within the department
  • Support teacher performance and instructional growth

Student Achievement & Learning

  • Monitor student progress and academic achievement
  • Implement strategies to improve learning outcomes and student engagement
  • Support assessment planning and data-driven instructional decisions
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

School Collaboration

  • Work closely with academic leaders, teachers, and support staff
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
  • Support initiatives that contribute to overall school excellence and student success

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related field
  • Recognized Teaching Qualification
  • IELTS Score of 7.0 or above

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Science Lead Teacher within the American Curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience in educational leadership and team management
  • Strong background in curriculum planning and instructional leadership
