Job Purpose

The Master Technician – DWC will carry out, supervise, and guide maintenance activities for both powered and non-powered Ground Support Equipment (GSE), material handling systems, and workshop tools. The role ensures quality control, safety compliance, and minimal downtime, while mentoring junior team members and supporting efficiency improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities

Plan

Identify and escalate suggestions to improve safety, efficiency, and asset reliability.
Analyze reports to support MTBF and MTTR optimization and capital budgeting.
Review and approve requests for tools, parts, and overtime to control job costs.

Deploy

Ensure timely repairs to avoid service delays, especially for aircraft, cargo, or baggage.
Record maintenance activity accurately for logging into the Maintenance Management System.

Lead

Oversee housekeeping, tool care, and safety practices during all tasks.
Monitor and guide junior staff in maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
Ensure calibration and certification of lifting tools and equipment.

Execute

Perform planned, unplanned, and breakdown maintenance on GSE and related equipment.
Conduct quality checks and identify training needs based on inspections.
Provide technical assistance and procedural coaching to the maintenance team.

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in:
- Automotive
- Electrical
- Electronics
- Mechanical
- Hydraulics
- Diesel Engines

Experience Requirements

Degree holders: 4–6 years of relevant experience
Diploma holders: 6–8 years of relevant experience
Industry exposure in:
- GSE or Cargo Workshops
- Baggage Handling Systems
- Automobile or Heavy Equipment Workshops
- Transportation or Manufacturing/Process Industries

Preferred Skills & Certifications

Technical certifications: Welding, Hydraulics, PLCs, Fabrication, Battery Handling
OEM training from automotive or GSE manufacturers
UAE driving license (preferably heavy vehicle) – required for ramp assignment
Strong diagnostic, repair, and maintenance knowledge
Proficiency in maintenance documentation and tools management
