General Accountant

Joga Ram General Trading L.L.C, a well-established multi-division business operating across Construction, Interior Fit-Out, Manufacturing, Trading, and Real Estate in the UAE, is looking for an experienced General Accountant to take ownership of its accounts payable function in Dubai. This is an immediate, full-time opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a multi-entity environment and can keep complex supplier payment cycles running smoothly and accurately.

You’ll be the go-to person for managing the full AP cycle across multiple companies and branch locations — verifying supplier documentation, preparing payment schedules, reconciling statements, and ensuring everything is processed in line with agreed credit terms. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete accounts payable cycle across multiple companies and branch locations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed on time.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, delivery notes, and supporting documentation before authorising payment.
• Prepare detailed payment schedules and ensure all supplier payments are processed within agreed credit terms without exception.
• Reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis and investigate, escalate, and resolve any payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Process advance payments, retention payments, and subcontractor payments in accordance with contractual terms and internal approval procedures.
• Monitor accounts payable ageing reports and prepare regular MIS reporting for management review and decision-making.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and liaise with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and schedules.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 2–3 years of dedicated Accounts Payable experience — hands-on AP experience is mandatory.
• Prior experience in Construction, Interior Fit-Out, Manufacturing, or Trading industries is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP accounting systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sound knowledge of UAE VAT compliance and financial regulations applicable to multi-division businesses.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage high transaction volumes efficiently.
