Job Overview
A reputable organization is seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Engineer / Commercial Engineer to manage post-contract commercial activities and ensure financial and contractual performance across engineering and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage post-contract commercial activities from project award to close-out
- Prepare and track Interim Payment Applications (IPAs) and Certificates (IPCs)
- Monitor project cash flow and ensure timely invoicing and payments
- Handle Variation Orders (VOs), including cost estimation and negotiation
- Resolve payment issues such as delays and discrepancies
- Prepare cost breakdowns, rate analysis, and remeasurement reports
- Review contracts to ensure compliance and protect commercial interests
- Manage claims, including documentation and entitlement analysis
- Track budgets, forecasts, and project costs
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams
- Use AutoCAD and PlanSwift for drawing reviews and quantity take-offs
- Maintain commercial records and logs
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and support project close-out
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD/BIM and MS Excel
- Good understanding of commercial and contractual processes
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts, claims, and variations
