Mawarid Holding is looking for an experienced Horticulturist to lead nursery operations focused on native and ornamental plants in Abu Dhabi. This role suits a plant-science professional who knows commercial nursery work inside out and wants to shape how a large-scale operation runs.
You’ll manage production planning, quality control, and a nursery team, all while working closely with landscaping projects that depend on a steady, healthy plant supply. A strong grasp of local growing conditions and native species will set you apart.
What you’ll be doing:
- Overseeing production and maintenance of native and ornamental trees, shrubs, and groundcovers
- Developing nursery production plans based on project timelines
- Reviewing BOQs, plant schedules, and contractual specifications
- Ensuring plant health, sizing, root development, and dispatch readiness meet quality standards
- Managing irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest control, and disease management
- Tracking inventory, plant availability, and mortality rates
- Leading the nursery team to improve productivity and quality
- Coordinating with Projects, Procurement, Sales, and Operations for timely plant delivery
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Science, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience in commercial nursery operations
- UAE nursery experience strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of native and ornamental plants suited to UAE conditions
- Experience supporting large-scale landscaping projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills; good English
